Even jail for not wearing mask, says Cabinet Secretary

Government will go with stern action for obeying people Corona prevention rules.

Imprisonment will be imposed if maximum fine do not work for not wearing a mask, Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam informed about the decision of the government.
The cabinet secretary made the comment at a briefing of the cabinet meeting at the secretariat on Monday (November 30).

The secretary said, ‘As it told before, from this week (against those who are not wearing masks) we will go into a little more strong action.

The secretary appraised that DCs (Deputy Commissioners) say people in the district headquarters are becoming more aware. It has probably not been completed yet in Dhaka city.

However, there is a message that (if you don’t wear a mask) you will be fined, you will have to pay a fine (fine) of 500 taka. I said fine from now on, otherwise we will give more instructions. I have asked for maximum fine. ‘

He said, ‘Slowly we will have to go to jail. What to do, if not listen, we can’t take risks (we can’t take the risk), we have to do as much as possible, we said. We will watch for another seven to 10 days, then give instructions – go to a more severe punishment.
