Police foiled an attempt of entering a large consignment of Phensidyl was coming from Meherpur border. The consignment contained 500 bottles of Phensidyl. Two alleged drug dealers were arrested at the time.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Khorshed Alam, in-charge of Khalisakundi police camp, acting on a tip off, they stopped a Kushtia-bound jute stick laden local vehicle in front of the Khalisakundi police box on the Kushtia-Meherpur road on Tuesday (July 27) morning.
After search 500 bottles of Phenaisyl were found specially hidden inside jute stick.
The arrested drug dealers are Saeed Ali, 22, son of Ibrahim of Mathurapur village in Tetulbaria union of Gangni upazila of Meherpur district and Rajab Ali, 24, son of Tansen Ali of the same village.
