Police have recovered the body of a 5-year-old child from Harinarayanpur in Kushtia sadar upazila on Sunday evening.

The body was found at a side of old land office, just 150 meters from her home.  But how the baby died is not yet known.

The baby was identified as Sanjida, 5, daught of Sohag Ali at East-Abdalpur of Harinarayanpur Union of Kushtia Sadar Upazila. Sohag has a business for renting video cameras at the local Harinarayanpur bazar.

Family sources said Sanjida could not be found around 4:30 pm on Sunday.

Later, her body was found at 7.30 pm.

Officer-in-charge of the Islamic University Police Station Mostafizur Rahman said there were no signs of injuries anywhere on her body. The body was recovered and sent to Kushtia general hospital for autopsy.

The cause of the death was not immediately clear, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, the cause will be revealed soon, OC said.

Family members say the child would go to school.
