The government is paying the same amount of two months basic salary to 2,669 nurses engaged in medical services of coronavirus patients taking risk of their lives.
The finance department has issued a circular with a grant of Tk 11 crore 5 lakh 50 thousand 300 for distribution among these nurses working in 22 hospitals of the country.
The circular on Wednesday said the money would be given as a one-time special honorarium to nurses directly involved in providing services to patients infected with coronavirus. However, those who work as outsourcing can not be given this money in any way. The money has been distributed and it has been asked to inform the finance department by June 30.
Sources said in the revised budget at the Ministry of Finance, the money is being distributed from the unspent amount of Tk 150 crore for the health department. Of the 22 hospitals, 484 nurses at Kurmitola General Hospital are receiving the most incentives. Then there are 457 people from Mugda General Hospital, 284 people from Sheikh Russell National Gastroliver Hospital, 265 people from 250-bed hospital in Bogra, 265 people from Kuwait Friendship Hospital, 185 people from Narayanganj 500-bed Corona Dedicated Hospital, 155 people from Shahid Shamduddin Hospital in Sylhet. .
Among the hospitals where the number of nurses below 100 is getting incentive – 22 from the 250-bed General Hospital in Munshiganj, 18 from the Kamalapur General Hospital, 6 from the Rajarbagh Police Central Hospital, 15 from the Bashundhara Temporary Kovid Hospital, 33 from the Rajbari Sadar Hospital and 25 from the Chandpur. 62 beds from Sadar Hospital, 72 beds from Mirpur Maternal and Child Health Training, 31 beds from Sadar Hospital in Jhenaidah, 31 beds from Naogaon 250 Beds General Hospital, 54 beds from Barisal Sadar Hospital, 50 beds from Bagerhat Sadar Hospital, 10 beds from Khulna Corona Dedicated Hospital and 250 beds from Habiganj. There are 60 nurses in a bed hospital, 23 nurses in Holy Crescent Hospital in Chittagong and 40 nurses in Sadar and Kovid Hospitals in Madaripur.
In order to receive this honorarium, the following procedure should be followed-
> Only government nurses will get this honor. Outsourced or otherwise employed nurses will not receive this honor.
> This money has to be allocated through the issuance of authorization of the proposed institutions.
> The Department of Health will pay an honorarium equal to the basic salary drawn for the month of July 2020. In this case, the equivalent of two months can fluctuate a bit.
> The matter of awarding this honorarium has to be informed to the finance department by June 30.
