After 13 in previous days, seventeen more people have died of Covid-19 and Covid-19 like symptoms in 24 hours till 8:00 am today.
At the same time, of 177 samples tested, 57 were positive. The positivity rate is 32.2 percent.
A total of 189 people recovered from the virus during this period, said Dr Ashraful Islam, residential medical officer of Kushtia General Hospital.
Those who died with Covid-19 symptoms were hospitalised at different times yesterday, he said.
He added that currently, 244 are admitted at the 200-bed Covid-19 dedicated hospital.
A total of 3,487 went into home isolation in the district till 8 am today.
Currently, 3,731 Covid-19 patients are taking treatment at home and hospital in the district according to the health department.
To date, 12,872 people have been infected with Covid-19 in Kushtia and 454 people died from it in the district.
Meanwhile, Kushtia Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Saidul Islam has requested everyone to maintain the government enforced lockdown that started today.
The administration will be strict in implementing the lockdown, he told the Kushtia Times.
He said only people’s consciousness can save the people themselves.
