The race of death of Covid-19 virus is not stopping in Kushtia. The district is now being termed as one of the infected zones of the virus where total 442 people have died till today (Thursday) morning.
Twelve people died of Covid-19 and two died with symptoms in Kushtia in 24 hours (till 8:00am) today.
During this time, 82 people were tested for coronavirus and of them 21 were diagnosed with the virus.
With the new Covid-19 cases, the infection rate in the district stands at 25.61 percent, Ashraful Islam, resident medical officer of the coronavirus-dedicated Kushtia General Hospital confirmed.
He said, all 12 deceased were receiving treatment under Kushtia Health Department. The two who died of Covid-19 symptoms breathed their last while undergoing treatment at different hospitals.
Till 8:00am today, a total of 247 patients have been admitted to Kushtia general Hospital, the physician added.
At least 3,628 people remain in home isolation in the district in 24 hours (till 8:00am).
So far, 442 people have died of Covid-19 and 12,815 have been diagnosed with the virus in the district.
